Jill Hay is a teacher's teacher. In each aspect of a workshop or seminar that she leads, Jill provides a model of what she is suggesting. Always grounded in reality, Jill invites her audience to become actively involved in learning as she creates a sense of fun. Jill's confidence, expertise, and ability to tailor adult learning to stated and perceived needs flows from her rich background of training and experience.
Jill’s formal training in Texas resulted in her earning a bachelor's and master's degrees in education. Subsequently, she achieved Texas certification in speech and hearing therapy, special education, elementary education, and as an educational diagnostician. Additionally, she is certified in Washington State in early childhood education. Jill applied what she learned as a teacher of students in pre-school through graduate school. She also served as a speech pathologist and a staff development specialist.
An inspiring change agent, Jill Hay served as a regional education specialist working with 78 Texas school districts in a twelve-county area. Her primary responsibilities included consulting and training in such diverse areas as multiple intelligences, character education, parental involvement, experiential science, integrated and interdisciplinary curriculum, and cooperative learning.
Most recently, Jill has served as an Instructional Facilitator in the areas of Special Education, Staff Development and Gifted Education for her school district in the state of Washington.
As a Master Consultant for the Highly Effective Teaching model, Jill has helped elementary and secondary educators realize their school improvement goals. Participants in her workshops across the country describe her as organized, knowledgeable, energetic, practical, fun loving, caring, and creative. Jill brings to each group of colleagues her sense of mission and affirms the vital importance of the work of educators. |
