On-Site Coaching

The Center for Effective Learning, also known as Susan Kovalik & Associates, Inc., provides customized educational services including assessments and coaching performed by our Master Highly Effective Teaching (HET) Associates on-site at your school throughout the year. This valuable and necessary mentoring process supports teachers and administrators as they expand their knowledge in creating the optimal conditions for learning.

"We have been energized, inspired, and encouraged.
The knowledge gained from on-site visits is priceless!"

- Educator in Tennessee

On-Site Assessments are highly recommended for all schools moving toward a bodybrain-compatible learning environment. Having a plan created from the onset saves time and resources while providing administrators the opportunity to understand how implementing the Highly Effective Teaching Model will raise levels of engagement and achievement. During this school visit, a Master HET Associate observes and evaluates the school's:

  • emotional tone
  • physical environment
  • levels of academic engagement, and
  • staff effectiveness and interactions

Typically, the assessments take from a few hours up to two days, depending on the size of the school. They are conducted on days when it is possible to observe the entire school population in its normal routine. On-site assessments are most useful when it's possible to see what a typical day at your school looks, sounds, and feels like. It includes a detailed interview with the school leaders, followed by a comprehensive tour of the building where the Master Associate shares information gathered from analyzing current practices. Our approach assists with setting clear goals for targeted improvement, evaluating progress toward those goals, and designing incremental steps toward success.

On-Site Coaching sessions are personalized to meet the specific needs of the school. Our clients appreciate the extra effort our Master Associates take in mentoring and coaching staff members toward highly effective, brain-compatible teaching and learning. Coaching is available to individuals, small groups, grade level or specialized staff and may include assistance with:

  • school/district needs assessment and strategic action plans
  • leadership development and effective classroom management
  • conceptual curriculum mapping embedded with your state standards
  • effective instructional strategies and differentiated instruction
  • student engagement, cooperative learning, and building a sense of community
  • specialized subjects such as Literacy, Math, Science, the Arts, Special Education
  • preK - 12 content areas, as well as college/adult education
  • whole school reform through brain-compatible education, and more!

Coaching is one of the best investments a school can make to ensure that Highly Effective Teaching professional development training content and strategies are implemented in the classroom and schoolwide. Coaching sessions are interactive and provide hands-on experience, meaningful dialogue, and opportunities to apply powerful principles and tools to your unique circumstances through a set of comprehensive, proven examples and strategies. Coaching and mentoring is the sure path toward sustainability and success.
