Curriculum for Highly Effective Teaching
The Center for Effective Learning offers up to Five Days of dedicated training for creating Conceptual Curriculum. Designed for K-12 teachers who have been introduced to the power of integrated curriculum with themes and are now ready to tackle yearlong, conceptually based content. This hands-on training workshop provides you and your team with time to develop conceptual curriculum for the coming school year. Each day, relevant general sessions will highlight important aspects of writing Highly Effective Teaching (HET) curriculum. Grade-level breakout groups follow general sessions where our HET Master Associates offer assistance as you create or refine your curriculum.
Meaningful curriculum must be:
- Based in physical locations that provide sensory-rich being there experiences from which to extract the concepts and skills to be learned
- Naturally integrated – the knowledge and skills needed by those who work at, visit, or use the being there location
- Conceptually stated – knowledge and skills connected under a broad umbrella that is easily generalized and transferable to other times, places, and situations
This is an ideal professional development training for grade-level teams to focus on the upcoming school year. Individual participants may request as much work time and feedback as needed.
