Implementing the Highly Effective Teaching (HET) Model, this 3rd grade teacher and her class provide a wonderful example of how to use a Town Hall Meeting as a tool for taking care of business within the classroom. Town Hall meetings provide the opportunity for students to learn community skills, social interaction, organized meeting structures, and preparation for responsible citizenship.
Students can rotate through various roles, learning necessary leadership skills.

Model Teaching Week (MTW)

The Model Teaching Week is our signature training event. In one dynamic week, participants observe HET Certified Master Educators as they transform the traditional classroom into an optimal learning environment for all students and receive training in the practical implementation of the brain-based HET model in the classroom.

Summer Institute (SI)

Tahoe City (near Lake Tahoe), California

Summer Institute is an essential training event to the Highly Effective Teaching program. Held at the beautiful Granlibakken Resort, this event offers four days of highly interactive sessions designed to build the skills necessary to meet the challenges of today's standards in education. Participants learn how to effectively increase student engagement and raise ahievement levels through brain-compatibility.

  • An introduction in the effectiveness of brain-compatible education
  • Focus strands in the stages of implementation - stages 1, 2, 3 and beyond
  • Sensory-rich "being there" study trips for understanding the value of experience
